Loch Village
Welcome
Approximately 100 km southeast from Melbourne and located at the foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges you will find the charming villages of Loch, Poowong, Bena, Kernot and Nyora. The perfect place to base your getaway while exploring the many wonderful attractions and artisans our region has to offer.
We appreciate the hard work our pioneers undertook to establish our region, and our dedicated locals for preserving and enhancing our villages, from volunteering to establishing businesses, we thank you all for supporting these local initiatives.
We acknowledge the Bunurong people, the traditional owners of this land and we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
This website is a guide for both visitors and the community living in this beautiful part of the world.
Loch 150 Celebrations
The Loch 150 Celebration weekend is nearly here and we look forward to seeing you around town. Everyone is welcome, especially past and present Loch families.
Print copies of our program have been widely dispersed and a copy can be downloaded here but feel free to ring Paul Knox on 0428 592248 for any further queries.
There are three more formal events, the book launch on the Friday Night, the unveiling of the memorial seat and school project on the Saturday morning, and the cutting of the celebration cake on the Saturday night. The memorial reserve will host a great day on Saturday, Loch Market will be on the Sunday along with an old machinery display at the reserve, an ecumenical church service on Monday morning with a school catch up on the Monday afternoon.
Many Loch venues and clubs and eateries will be open during the weekend and there will be lots of opportunity for catching up with old acquaintances as you walk around Loch and reminisce.
Please be aware that the weekend is BYO drinks.
